Chhattisgarh’s Daughter Sets Out to Hoist Tricolour on Everest; CM Extends Best Wishes
Raipur, April 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended his best wishes to young mountaineer Amita Shrivas from Janjgir-Champa district for her upcoming Mount Everest expedition.
During a meeting with Amita Shrivas at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur, Sai said that she will depart for Kathmandu on April 9 with the determination to hoist the Indian tricolour on Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. He described her journey not just as a personal achievement, but as a reflection of the aspirations, courage, and confidence of the entire state of Chhattisgarh.
He said that Amita’s mission proves that no height is impossible if one’s determination is unwavering. He also noted that daughters of the state are setting new benchmarks in every field through their talent and hard work, giving Chhattisgarh a new identity.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Amita Shrivas had already demonstrated her strength and determination by successfully scaling Mount Kilimanjaro on International Women’s Day in 2021. He said her continued efforts are not only achievements but also a source of inspiration for the youth of the state, especially young girls.
Expressing confidence in her success, Sai said that Amita will achieve her goal and hoist the national flag on the world’s highest peak, bringing pride to Chhattisgarh and the entire nation.
He conveyed heartfelt wishes on behalf of the people of the state for her important expedition and wished her a bright future.
