All Simhastha 2028 Works to Be Completed by Diwali 2027: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that all proposed works for Simhastha 2028 must be completed by Diwali 2027. He instructed that the required officers and staff from the concerned departments be deployed immediately for the successful conduct of Simhastha, monitoring and review of development works and implementation of information, education and communication activities. The Chief Minister said that adequate availability of officers and staff must be ensured, and intensive training programmes should be initiated for various responsibilities related to Simhastha. He emphasised that all infrastructure works must be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav issued these directions during the fifth meeting of the Ministerial Committee constituted for the organisation of Simhastha 2028, held at the Mantralaya on Tuesday. He also directed that the next meeting of the Ministerial Committee be held in Ujjain. The committee approved 22 works worth ₹2,923.84 crore for Simhastha 2028. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Devda and Shri Rajendra Shukla were present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that third-party audits be conducted to ensure quality and effective financial management of works related to Simhastha 2028. He said that buildings being constructed in various parts of Ujjain for Simhastha should be designed in a manner that they remain useful for annual events even after Simhastha 2028. Similarly, roads should be developed in such a way that, in addition to Mahakal Lok, connectivity to other major pilgrimage sites in Ujjain becomes easier. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed that homestays, parking facilities and public amenities within a 100-kilometre radius of Ujjain be developed on priority to facilitate devotees travelling from distant regions. He emphasised that cooperation of local institutions and public participation should be encouraged in the management of Simhastha. The Chief Minister also directed the construction of a separate bridge over the Kshipra River for pedestrian pilgrims.
In the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, several road widening, cement concrete road construction and infrastructure development works were approved, including—Road widening and cement concrete road construction from Gudri Square via Pan Dariba to Harsiddhi Pal, Road widening and cement concrete road construction from Bombay Wale Dharamshala to Dani Gate Square, Upgradation of MR-2 road from Dewas Road to Nanakheda, Road widening from Shinde Nursing Home to Neelganga main road, Road widening and cement concrete road construction from Gautam Marg to Tilkeshwar Marg, Road widening and beautification from Chaubis Khamba Mata Temple to Chhota Rudra Sagar, Road construction from Badnawar–Dewas NHAI road to Sikandari and Daudkhedi, Construction of a road along the eastern bank of the Kshipra River, Cement concrete road construction from near the proposed underpass at Jaysinghpura to Nutan School near Char Dham Temple parking, Road widening from Ankpat Square via Khak Chowk to Mangalnath, Road widening from Gada Pulia to Ravishankar Nagar Narsingh Ghat junction, Road widening and cement concrete road construction from Mahakal Square via Gopal Temple to Kamri Marg junction and Construction of a new bridge from Shani Temple to Methia Road.
The Ministerial Committee, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, also approved the construction of an Integrated Command and Control Centre at an estimated cost of ₹139.14 crore. From this centre, realtime monitoring of Simhastha activities will be carried out through CCTV cameras, drones and data analytics. AI-based crowd management systems will be implemented, and mobile applications will provide information on routes, parking facilities and public amenities. The centre will also monitor cybersecurity, waste management, water supply and sanitation.
Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Ministerial Committee also approved projects worth around ₹30 crore, including—Construction of a Mela Control Room, Development of a Multimodal Transit Hub at Dewas Gate Bus Stand, Construction of a skywalk connecting the Integrated Multimodal Transit Hub to Ujjain Railway Station, Construction of a Circuit House, Development of permanent infrastructure in the fair area, Permanent infrastructure works in the fair area will include paved roads, dividers, footpaths, street lighting, service roads, water supply systems and sewerage arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Transport Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsi Silawat, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Shri Chaitanya Kumar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Shri Sanjay Dubey, Shri Neeraj Mandloi and other senior officials.
