o Boost Safety, Ensure Swift Response
Jaipur, April 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening the safety of women and girls, the Jaipur Police Commissionerate on Sunday flagged off five dedicated women PCR (Police Control Room) vans. The initiative aims to enhance rapid response mechanisms and ensure greater security, especially in sensitive and high-footfall areas.
The launch event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ranjita Sharma and Additional DCP Ranu Sharma, along with other senior officials. Providing details, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Administration) Yogesh Dadhich said that the deployment of these women PCR vans has been planned with a focused approach on women’s safety.
He informed that the vans will operate in two shifts to ensure extended coverage throughout the day. The first shift will function from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, while the second shift will be active from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. All vehicles will operate under the supervision of the police control room and will respond promptly to complaints received via the 1090 women’s helpline.
The women PCR vans will conduct regular patrols in crowded areas, locations with high movement of women, and zones around schools, colleges, and shopping malls. This proactive patrolling is expected to deter potential offenders and provide a sense of security to women in public spaces.
Officials also stated that in case of any emergency call or complaint, the nearest PCR van will be immediately dispatched to the location by the control room, ensuring quick assistance and timely intervention. The move is expected to significantly reduce response time and improve coordination between citizens and law enforcement.
Senior officers, including Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ajay Singh and Additional DCP (Headquarters) Parth Sharma, were also present at the event. Police inspectors Anita and Sapna, along with other personnel, attended the flag-off ceremony.
The initiative reflects Jaipur Police’s continued commitment to prioritising women’s safety through improved infrastructure, technology, and dedicated resources.
