Alipore OC, Kolkata; April 2026: An East-West trough now runs from northeast Uttar Pradesh to Manipur across the cyclonic circulation over northeast Bihar, northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

Mainly dry westerly to north westerly wind likely to prevail at lower tropospheric levels over the region and consequently Hot & Humid condition is very likely to occur over some districts of South Bengal from14th April, 2026 onwards.

15-04-2026 to 16-04-2026: Light rain/thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over Jhargram, West Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura, East & West Burdwan, Birbhum and Murshidabad districts and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of South Bengal with Thunderstorm, Lightning and gusty wind (Speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, West Burdwan and Birbhum districts of South Bengal.
