Jesus Christ Does Not Support Genocide; Protestors Shout At US Vice President.
Georgia; April 2026: US Vice President JD Vance while delivering a speech at the conservative Turning Point USA (TPUSA) conference in Georgia, was interrupted several times by protesters speaking out against Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.
One of the protesters shouted, “Jesus Christ does not support genocide!”; Vance replied, “I agree, Jesus does not support genocide, whoever yelled that out from the dark. He certainly does not”. He later said the person should be thankful that President Trump negotiated a ceasefire in Gaza. “We are the administration that solved the problem”, he said. Later, another protestor yelled out, “You’re killing children! You’re bombing children!”
US Vice President JD Vance has told a conservative Turning Point USA conference in Georgia that he still admires Pope Leo despite feeling “frustrated” at the pontiff’s criticism of US policies. But he said the pope was wrong to say political figures should not wield the sword and that the pontiff should “be careful when he talks about matters of theology”.
“Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated France from the Nazis? Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated Holocaust camps and liberated those innocent people from those who had survived the Holocaust? I certainly think the answer is yes”, Vance said.
The comments come as Trump escalates attacks on the leader of the Catholic Church for criticising his decision to wage war on Iran. Pope Leo has previously called Trump’s threat to destroy Iranian civilisation as “truly unacceptable” and said that anyone who is a disciple of Christ “is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs”.
Trump doesn’t want a small deal, he wants ‘a grand bargain’, Vance who had led the US delegation in the talks with Iran in Islamabad, said the US offered to normalise economic relations with Iran if it was “willing to act like a normal country” and that Trump’s fundamental policy is to prevent Tehran from getting a nuclear weapon. “We have this ceasefire that’s in place, I think it’s six or seven days old, this ceasefire is holding”, Vance said. “The President doesn’t want to make a small deal; he wants to make the grand bargain”.
The Vice President also said that he recognises that “young voters do not love the policy we have in the Middle East. I’m not saying you have to agree with me on every issue. What I am saying is, don’t get disengaged because you disagree with the administration on one topic. Get more involved, make your voice heard even more”.
