Israeli Forces Razing South Lebanon Villages Alike Gaza.
Beirut; April 2026: As per official sources, the Israeli military is demolishing villages in southern Lebanon in methods similar to those used in the Gaza Strip. Their aggressions have manifested as they have spoken with media reporters claiming, “We’re behaving just like we did in Gaza. There’s a list of homes to be demolished, and we measure success based on the number of buildings destroyed in a day. Bulldozers raze villages near the border fence to clear space for building new military outposts, and the new buildings appear to be permanent”. The Israeli soldiers further have openly claimed that they are advancing to the third line of villages from the border, roughly 20 kilometres south of Lebanon’s Litani River.

Israeli Military in a brazen illustration of statesmanship have asserted that, “Israel wants one thing and one thing only, which is the disarmament of Hezbollah. And it wants the Lebanese government and the Lebanese army to take on that responsibility, as we’ve heard time and again, from the first few days of the start of the battle between Israel and Hezbollah”.
During this round, they’ve been saying that they cannot disarm Hezbollah by bombarding Lebanon or by pushing more troops into southern Lebanon. They say that requires conquering and occupying all of the country, something which is impossible. That’s why they have been telling the Lebanese government to take on that role, and also threatening the Lebanese government in the past few weeks, saying if they don’t do so, they will pay a heavy price. The Israelis don’t care about the Lebanese government’s popularity or its abilities.
They only care – about appeasing their streets; about showing the communities in northern Israel that they’re acting to protect them. This is something that has proven difficult, given the rockets that Hezbollah has been firing, affecting the livelihoods and the daily lives of communities in northern Israel. The Israeli troops who have been pushing deeper into southern Lebanon also face a costly battle as Hezbollah owns the ground there and can inflict losses. All of these things are playing in Israeli politics, and some are warning of a fatigue in the army, and saying the strategy of the army is not clear.
Despite the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors holding talks in the US, the Israeli assault on southern Lebanon has continued. Israeli air strikes across south Lebanon continued hitting dozens of locations throughout the day and have continued into the night. There have been air strikes on Tyre and Aabbasiyyeh, where at least two people have been killed.
The Israeli military also has thousands of troops on the ground inside southern Lebanon, and they have been attempting to push northwards into Lebanon to what they’ve now started calling “the antitank line”, and that’s about 04 to 06 kilometres [2.5 to 3.7 miles] in the range of an antitank missile, and they say they’re doing that to stop Hezbollah from being able to fire into Israel.
As part of that effort, they have been trying to take the town of Bint Jbeil for a number of days now. They say that they have completed their encirclement of that town and will have it under full control within a couple of days. That’s backed up by satellite imagery as well as reports of Israeli tanks in the centre of that town.
There have also been reports of explosions believed to be from the demolition of houses in Bint Jbeil. Israel seems to have begun there what they have been doing in several villages and towns along the border region over the last couple of weeks, which is rigging houses with explosives and detonating them, and pursuing a policy of destroying all of the buildings in these towns and villages along the border.
Meanwhile, the UNHRC Volunteers were busy keeping the displaced children engaged with entertaining roles. More than 01 million people are sleeping in tents and in the streets.
