CM Interacts Virtually with Girl Students; Calls for Full Participation of Women in Nation-Building

Jaipur, April 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a virtual interaction with girl students across Rajasthan, emphasising that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will ensure complete participation of women in policymaking and governance.

He said that daughters of the state are making a distinct mark in every field and that their confidence is key to achieving the vision of a developed India. “The participation of half the population is essential for the nation’s progress. Through this Act, women will play a central role in decision-making, including planning and budgeting,” he stated.

Speaking via video conference from the Chief Minister’s residence, Sharma highlighted that when girls progress, it leads to the advancement of families, districts, the state, and the nation. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the legislation, which paves the way for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.

The Chief Minister noted that women are excelling across sectors and that the Act will open new avenues for them. He added that students are not only becoming self-reliant but are also contributing actively to society and state development.

Citing examples of women in leadership, he mentioned President Droupadi Murmu, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari as inspirations showcasing the strength of women’s leadership.

He further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the government is committed to women’s safety and prosperity. Schemes like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” Ujjwala, Jan Dhan, and Mudra have significantly improved gender ratios and provided financial and social security to women.

Highlighting state initiatives, Sharma said that the government has increased financial assistance under the Lado Protsahan Yojana to ₹1.5 lakh and raised maternity benefits under the Matru Vandana Yojana. Free sonography services are being provided under the Maa Voucher Scheme, and funds are directly transferred to beneficiaries via DBT. He also noted that over 16 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” have been created in the state.

On women’s safety, he said crime rates have declined, with 600 Kalika patrolling units and 65 Anti-Romeo squads actively working.

The Chief Minister also spoke about employment opportunities, stating that the government aims to generate 4 lakh jobs in the public sector and 6 lakh in the private sector, while promoting self-employment through interest-free loans.

During the interaction, students shared their experiences and suggestions. Sharma praised their determination, including a chemical engineer from Pachpadra and a data science student studying in Australia, reaffirming his confidence in the potential of young women to drive India’s future growth.
