Exposure Visits a Strong Tool for Self-Reliance: Minister Lakshmi Rajwade
51 women gain practical knowledge of small-scale industries
Raipur, April 2026: Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade said that the “Disha Darshan Exposure Visit” scheme is emerging as a powerful medium for promoting self-reliance among women. The initiative, being implemented under her guidance, is making steady progress in strengthening women’s economic empowerment.
As part of the program, around 51 women from Surajpur district, associated with various self-help groups, visited Raipur on a study tour. During the visit, the women toured a soya processing plant located in Raipur-Kharoora, where they gained detailed insights into production, processing, packaging, and marketing processes.
The hands-on training helped build confidence among the participants toward self-employment. Many of the women expressed their interest in setting up small-scale processing units in their own regions.
On this occasion, Minister Lakshmi Rajwade personally visited the plant premises and interacted directly with the women, encouraging and motivating them. She stated that the state government is continuously working towards making women self-reliant, and such exposure visits provide practical experience that inspires them to move forward in entrepreneurship.
The minister also assured that women self-help groups interested in establishing small industries like soya processing units would receive all possible support. She directed officials to link trained women with relevant government schemes and ensure access to financial assistance, technical guidance, and marketing facilities.
She further noted that through self-help groups, women are not only becoming economically empowered but are also taking on leadership roles in society and inspiring others. The Disha Darshan scheme, she added, is helping women move confidently toward self-reliance by providing them with knowledge, skills, and opportunities.
