Sushri Kalapini Komkali presents classical singing in “Madhya Pradesh Utsav”
On the first day of the cultural evening of ‘Madhya Pradesh Utsav’ organised at Madhya Pradesh Bhavan, Sushri Kalapini Komkali presented classical singing of Dewas. She presented Raga Puriya Dhanashree, Poorvi Thaat, Ragadesh, Raga Malhar including Nirgun and folk bhajans, in which group members Shri Ramendra Singh Solanki accompanied on tabla, Shri Chetan Nigam on harmonium, Shri Krishna on manjira, Sushri Varsha and Sushri Vaishali on veena.
Sushri Komkali is a talented artist of Indian classical music and is a recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy Award. She is the daughter of Kumar Gandharva. It is noteworthy that cultural evening will be organised every day in the ‘Madhya Pradesh Utsav’ organised from 30 August to 2 September, 2024.
Cultural Programmes
On the second day of the four-day Madhya Pradesh Utsav, there will be a presentation of Odissi dance by renowned Odissi dancer Smt. Bindu Juneja. On the third day, there will be a presentation of the musical ensemble through the traditional instruments including the Naaltarang of the Maihar Gharana. On the last day, September 2, folk songs will be presented by regional artists, which include Bagheli folk songs of Rewa by Shri Shashikumar Pandey and Nimari folk songs of Khandwa by Sushri Alochana Mangrole.
