Instructions to immediately fill dug-up roads and pits under Jal Jeevan Mission

CM Yogi directed District Magistrates and concerned officials to conduct field inspections

No lapse will be tolerated at any level; warning to blacklist agencies and contractors showing negligence

Lucknow, May 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed all District Magistrates to strictly ensure that all safety standards are followed during excavation work under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and that the roads and pits dug are filled immediately after the work is completed. District Magistrates and other senior officials will themselves conduct field inspections to ensure compliance. Any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.

The Yogi government is continuously working to provide clean drinking water from urban areas to rural regions. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, crores of people are being benefitted.

As per the Chief Minister’s directions, in all districts of the state, District Magistrates, senior officials associated with the Jal Jeevan Mission, and other concerned departmental officers must conduct on-site inspections to assess the condition of dug-up roads and pits. They must also ensure that these are filled immediately. Negligence at any level will not be tolerated.

Agencies and contractors responsible for delays, leaving work incomplete, or showing negligence will face penalties and will also be blacklisted. CM also directed officials to ensure that complaints related to water supply, leakages, and excavation on the Jal Samadhan portal are resolved on a priority basis.

For complaints related to water supply or repair work under the Jal Jeevan Mission, people can register complaints on the toll-free number 18001212164. It is noteworthy that in Uttar Pradesh, more than 2.50 crore rural households have already been provided tap water connections.

Nearly 100 percent of the target has been achieved in the Vindhya and Bundelkhand regions. The Yogi government is working on a war footing to ensure clean water reaches every household.
