CM Yogi Adityanath Completes Digital Self-Enumeration Form, Urges Public Participation

Gorakhpur, May 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday completed his digital self-enumeration form under the first phase of the ongoing digital census process during his stay at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur.

The Chief Minister filled out the online/self-enumeration form at his residence within the temple premises and appealed to all citizens of the state to actively participate in the digital enumeration process, which will continue until May 21.

He accessed the self-enumeration portal and filled in all required details, completing the digital exercise. Calling it a historic initiative, CM Yogi urged citizens across the state to contribute to the process, stating that this is India’s first fully digital census.

He said the primary objective of the initiative is to collect accurate and real-time data under the vision of “Our Census, Our Development”, which will help in planning effective development strategies and welfare schemes for the state.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had launched the first phase of the digital census process, known as self-enumeration, from Lucknow on May 7.

Census as a Tool for Inclusive Development

CM Yogi said that a census is not merely a count of population but a strong foundation for holistic, inclusive, and well-planned development. He emphasised that Census 2027 will play a crucial role in ensuring that even the last person in society becomes an equal participant in the development process.

He further stated that the use of digital technology and real-time data collection has made the census process more transparent, efficient, and faster than ever before.

“The use of digital systems ensures accuracy and strengthens the planning framework for development and welfare policies,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the digital census initiative is designed to modernise the data collection process and make governance more responsive to actual ground realities.

He also reiterated that public participation is essential for the success of this initiative and encouraged citizens to complete their self-enumeration before the deadline.

First Phase Launched Earlier in Lucknow

The first phase of the digital census, titled self-enumeration, was formally launched by CM Yogi Adityanath on May 7 from Lucknow. The initiative marks a major shift towards technology-driven governance in India’s statistical system.

Officials said the digital census aims to improve data accuracy, reduce delays, and ensure that welfare schemes are better targeted based on updated population data.

The Chief Minister once again appealed to citizens to actively take part in the process and contribute to building a more accurate and development-oriented data system for the state and the country.
