Chief Minister Meets Union Minister

Aizawl, May 2026 : Chief Minister Lalduhoma today met Smt Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, who is currently on a visit to Mizoram, at his official residence in Aizawl at 2:00 PM.

The Chief Minister welcomed the Union Minister to Mizoram and conveyed his best wishes for a pleasant stay in the state. During the meeting, he raised four important matters concerning Mizoram : 

Request for enhanced allocation of rice under the Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS).

Request for permission to procure rice through Bharat Rice in cases where procurement under OMSS is not feasible.

Request for enhancement of Mizoram’s rice allocation quota under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

Fund from Central Sector Scheme of ‘Storage & Godown’ for the construction of three godowns in Mizoram.

The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that the matters raised would be duly pursued. 

She also expressed her appreciation for the scenic beauty and hospitality of Mizoram.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Pu B. Lalchhanzova and senior officials from FCS & CA.
