Jaipur, May 2026 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday interacted with farmers and livestock rearers during the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme held at Chudada village in Kushalgarh, Banswara district. He said the double-engine government aims to encourage farmers to adopt profitable farming practices and increase their income.
The Chief Minister said Gram Vikas Rath campaigns were conducted across the state to ensure that farmers become aware of government schemes and actively participate in the state’s development journey. He urged farmers to promote organic farming and stated that the state government is providing an incentive of Rs 30,000 for traditional and natural farming carried out with bullocks.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the state government has prepared a development roadmap in line with public expectations, giving top priority to electricity and water needs. He said the government is committed to ensuring that farmers become prosperous and self-reliant.
He highlighted that rapid progress is being made on major irrigation and water projects including the Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, strengthening of IGNP and Gang Canal systems, as well as the Mahi, Dewas and Som-Kamla-Amba projects.
The Chief Minister added that farmers in 26 districts are currently receiving daytime electricity supply and this facility will be extended across the state by 2027.
He stressed the need to establish processing units based on local agricultural produce and expand greenhouse and polyhouse farming. Sharma said Rajasthan is setting new benchmarks in milk production and the state government is providing a subsidy of Rs 5 per litre under the Chief Minister Milk Producer Support Scheme while continuously increasing the number of milk collection centres.
He also noted that the cooperative sector is expanding steadily in Rajasthan and work is underway to establish cooperative units in every panchayat.
The Chief Minister said the state government is creating an industry-friendly environment through long-term policies and effective decisions. Of the MoUs worth over Rs 35 lakh crore signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, projects worth Rs 9 lakh crore have already moved towards implementation, reflecting the government’s intent and commitment.
He said the government has provided jobs to more than 1.25 lakh youths as part of its pledge to create four lakh jobs and has also released a recruitment calendar for another 1.25 lakh posts. Recruitment processes for more than 1.35 lakh appointments are currently underway.
Sharma stated that recruitment examinations are being conducted with complete transparency and encouraged youth to use their energy and innovation in the agricultural sector.
Referring to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said the double-engine government is dedicated to farmers’ welfare. Farmers are receiving benefits under schemes such as the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, Kisan Credit Card Scheme, Seed Mini Kit programme and interest-free short-term crop loans.
He added that farmers are also being given an additional bonus of Rs 150 on wheat procurement and electricity subsidies worth over Rs 53,000 crore have been provided.
The Chief Minister further said livestock rearers in the state are benefiting from the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, while more than 20 lakh animals have been registered under the Chief Minister Mangala Livestock Insurance Scheme. Mobile veterinary unit vans are also being operated across the state for animal treatment services.
During the Gram Vikas Chaupal, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma interacted with progressive farmers benefiting from various schemes and discussed innovations in agriculture. He also distributed cheques and sanction letters to farmers, livestock rearers and young entrepreneurs under different government schemes.
Farmers including Bharat Kumawat, Bahadur Singh, Suviya, Kailash, Manu, Kalsingh and Nirbhay Singh Ganawa shared their experiences and thanked the Chief Minister for implementing the schemes effectively.
The event was attended by Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, Revenue Minister Hemant Meena, Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak, MLA Kailash Chandra Meena, Shankarlal Decha, local public representatives, officials and a large number of villagers.
