Everyone will get the benefits of Lokmata Ahilya Devi’s public welfare works – CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this is the 300th birth anniversary year of Lokmata Ahilya Devi. On this occasion, work will be done to take the public welfare works of Lokmata to the people. In his message, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lokmata Ahilya Devi was one such ruler who preserved the cultural pride of the country including Rameshwaram, Jagannathpuri, Ujjain, Banaras during the period of external attacks on the temples. She engaged in activities like arranging puja in all temples as per Sanatan culture, developing the food sector, and constructing ghats for bathing. These activities which she undertook for people’s welfare, including the tribals, earned her the status of Lokmata.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government will undertake various activities on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilya Devi. A committee has been formed for this work that will not only empower women, but provide them with various rights, and present examples of better good governance. This way, the inspiring works of the Lokmata will be brought before the public.

14-member committee constituted under CM’s chairmanship

As per the announcement made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the Ahilyotsav program in Indore on Sunday, the General Administration Department has issued an order to form a committee within 24 hours. The committee formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister includes the Culture Minister, School Education Minister, Principal Secretary of Higher Education and School Education, Shri Mohan Giri of Indore, Smt. Mala Thakur, Sushri Vineeta Dharma, Smt. Jyoti Tomar, Shri Ashok Daga, Smt. Megha Panwar of Shahdol, Shri Rakesh Udeniya of Kareli, Shri Shiromani Dubey of Guna, and Shri Dhirendra Chaturvedi of Bhopal. Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture has been made the member secretary of the committee. This committee will decide on various actions/programs related to various cultural, social, and spiritual activities, Ahilya Devi’s spirit of survival and public welfare as well as to translate into practice her efforts to make people self-reliant.
