PM Modi gives nod to 7 new agricultural projects for farmers
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today made a big announcement to revolutionize the lives of farmers. The Modi Cabinet on Monday approved seven major agriculture projects costing Rs 13,966 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi for this decision taken in the interest of farmers. He said that the government of Prime Minister Shri Modi has resolved to give a new direction to the lives of farmers, which will start a new era in the Indian agriculture sector.
Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘We have launched a Digital Agriculture Mission worth Rs 2,817 crore based on successful pilot projects. This mission will create a digital infrastructure for agriculture, which will make farmers touch new heights of technology.”
The Cabinet has taken several important decisions to increase the income of farmers and bring stability to the agriculture sector. The first of these is the Digital Agriculture Mission, which will use modern technologies like AI, Big Data, and remote sensing.
Additionally, a program based on 6 key pillars based on food and nutrition security will be launched for Rs 3,979 crore, which will promote climate-sensitive crop science by 2047.
An investment of Rs 2,291 crore will be made under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for the modernization of agricultural education, including digital infrastructure and revamping the curriculum as per the new education policy 2020.
Rs 1,702 crore have been approved for livestock health and production, Rs 860 crore for horticulture development, and Rs 1,115 crore, and Rs 1,202 crore for natural resource management and agricultural science centers, respectively.
