Senior Iranian Commander Says Tehran Has Yet to Reveal Full Military Capabilities
Tehran, June 2026 : A senior Iranian military commander has asserted that Iran still possesses significant strategic and military capabilities that have not yet been disclosed, rejecting Western claims that the country’s defence strength has been substantially weakened.
Speaking to Iran’s state-affiliated news agency Defapress, Brigadier General Mohammad Jafar Asadi, Deputy Inspector of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (KCH), said Iran continues to maintain considerable untapped capabilities despite damage sustained during recent conflicts.
Asadi stated that Tehran has repeatedly maintained that it has not revealed all of its strengths and retains additional capabilities that could be deployed if necessary.
Addressing the condition of Iran’s defence sector, the commander acknowledged that some military facilities had suffered damage during the recent war. However, he emphasized that the country’s defence production infrastructure remains operational and capable of supporting the armed forces.
“Although the defence industry experienced some damage during the conflict, the facilities currently engaged in producing military equipment and supplying the armed forces remain fully functional,” Asadi said. He added that several production centres are located in secure and undisclosed locations beyond the reach of adversaries.
According to the senior official, Iran’s defence manufacturing capacity continues to function at an acceptable level and remains capable of meeting the requirements of the country’s military forces.
Asadi further argued that Iran’s greatest source of strength lies not in its weapons arsenal but in the support of its people. He claimed that national unity and public backing have proven to be the country’s most effective strategic asset.
“Our armed forces do not require atomic weapons,” he said, asserting that the Iranian people themselves represent the nation’s most powerful deterrent.
The commander also accused the United States and its allies of attempting to force Iran into submission through pressure and confrontation. He argued that such efforts have failed over decades and would continue to be unsuccessful.
“Since the Islamic Revolution, the United States and its partners, including NATO members, have consistently confronted Iran, yet they have not achieved their objectives,” Asadi said.
Warning against what he described as miscalculations by the United States, Israel and their allies, Asadi maintained that Iran would not yield to external pressure or coercion.
“America seeks Iran’s complete surrender, but the Iranian nation will never surrender,” he declared.
Commenting on the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington, Asadi expressed scepticism about the prospects of negotiations significantly reducing tensions. He suggested that Iran should remain prepared for the possibility of further confrontation rather than rely solely on diplomatic outcomes.
“When surrender is not an option, the possibility of conflict remains,” he said, adding that Iran is prepared to face future challenges and is not intimidated by potential military threats.
The remarks come amid continuing regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts between Iran and Western powers over security and strategic issues. Asadi’s comments underscore Tehran’s insistence that its military capabilities remain intact and that the country is prepared to resist external pressure while maintaining readiness for potential future confrontations.
