Jaipur, June 2026 : A crime review meeting was held on Monday at the Police Headquarters through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma. During the meeting, the DGP emphasized that a robust law and order system is the foundation of a developed Rajasthan.
He stated that the effective implementation of the new criminal laws has further strengthened public trust in the police and directed officials to take the strictest possible action against active and organized crime. He also instructed police authorities to initiate stringent action against individuals who file false cases.
Addressing senior police officers across the state, the DGP reviewed action taken by concerned Range IGs and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in various criminal incidents and issued necessary directions. He ordered strict action against extortion gangs that intimidate people and instructed officials to seize criminals’ properties under provisions of the new criminal laws.
Sharma directed authorities to ensure the demolition of illegally acquired assets of gangsters and maintain continuous surveillance on their bank accounts and other financial transactions.
Effective Action Against Drug Smugglers and Cyber Criminals
The DGP instructed SPs to launch well-planned campaigns to effectively curb drug trafficking and the spread of narcotics. He emphasized swift action in cases related to cybercrime, digital arrests, and online fraud, ensuring that offenders are traced and brought to justice.
He also stressed the need to train police personnel at police stations in the use of modern technologies for investigation and evidence collection.
The DGP said that any sensitive incident related to law and security must be immediately reported to senior officers so that timely guidance and necessary support can be provided. He further directed officials to expedite the disposal of old cases and ensure speedy justice for victims.
Year-Round Road Safety Campaigns
Reviewing road safety measures, Sharma observed that road accidents impact not just an individual but entire families. He instructed officials to ensure 100 per cent compliance with lane discipline on national highways and in urban areas.
Strict enforcement action against traffic violators was also ordered, along with year-round road safety awareness campaigns across the state.
Directions for NEET Examination
The DGP also issued instructions to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the NEET examination. He directed authorities to strictly implement all prescribed guidelines and maintain continuous monitoring through CCTV surveillance to ensure a fair and orderly examination process.
