Indian Oil CSR Initiative Provides Advanced Biochemistry Blood Analyzer to Sion Hospital: CM Devendra FadnavisPatient Care to Become Faster and More Efficient
Mumbai, June 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening public healthcare services through advanced technology, an ultra-modern, fully automated biochemistry blood analyzer has been provided to the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital (Sion Hospital) in Mumbai under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government is committed to ensuring quality healthcare services for citizens through the effective use of modern technology. He noted that the installation of this advanced equipment would enable faster and more accurate diagnosis, thereby accelerating treatment processes and improving patient outcomes.
The Chief Minister emphasized that contributions made by public sector enterprises like Indian Oil through CSR initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
“The introduction of this state-of-the-art biochemistry blood analyzer at Sion Hospital will make diagnostic procedures faster, more accurate and highly effective. This will enable doctors to make timely treatment decisions, directly benefiting patients,” Fadnavis said.
Sion Hospital is one of Maharashtra’s leading medical institutions, catering to thousands of patients daily from Mumbai and various parts of the state. Due to the high volume of blood tests conducted every day, the hospital’s laboratory often experiences significant workload pressure.
The newly installed high-capacity, fully automated analyzer is expected to substantially reduce the time required for generating test reports. The advanced system is capable of processing a large number of samples rapidly while delivering more accurate and reliable results.
As a result, patients will receive quicker diagnoses, enabling healthcare providers to initiate treatment without delay. The facility is expected to be especially beneficial in emergency situations, where rapid diagnosis can be critical to saving lives.
Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted that collaboration among the government, local self-governing bodies and corporate institutions is essential for building a stronger public healthcare system in the state. He praised Indian Oil Corporation for demonstrating social responsibility through its contribution to healthcare services.
He further stated that such initiatives strengthen efforts to extend quality medical services to underprivileged and needy sections of society. According to him, CSR-led healthcare interventions can significantly enhance access to advanced medical technologies in public hospitals.
The installation of the new medical equipment at Sion Hospital is expected to improve laboratory efficiency, reduce patient waiting times and elevate the overall quality of healthcare services.
With growing patient loads and increasing demand for timely diagnostics, the deployment of cutting-edge technology in public hospitals marks an important step toward creating a more efficient and responsive healthcare system in Maharashtra.
