The discussions and outcomes from the National Conference on e-Governance will have a lasting impact on the administration’s future functioning. This conference will help steer us towards the goal of a digitally empowered and developed India by 2047,” said Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, highlighting the critical role of e-governance.

The 27th National Conference on e-Governance was held in Mumbai, where Mrs. Saunik shared her thoughts at the conclusion of the two-day event themed “Developed India: Secure and Sustainable e-Service Delivery.” Present on the occasion were Central Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of IIPA S.N. Tripathi, Union Additional Secretary Punit Yadav, Haryana Chief Information Commissioner T.C. Gupta, and Parag Jain, Principal Secretary of the Information Technology Department. The conference had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on September 3.

Chief Secretary Smt. Saunik praised the role of Parag Jain, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, in the ‘Chief Minister-My Beloved Sister’ scheme. She noted that 1.57 crore beneficiaries have already been reached through this initiative, with plans to expand the number to 2 crore. A comprehensive database of these women beneficiaries is being developed, and in the future, this database will be used for identification through artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology. She also mentioned that efforts are underway to build a robust digital platform to facilitate direct benefit transfers to beneficiaries.

Mrs. Saunik emphasized the importance of everyone taking their responsibilities seriously, noting that Maharashtra has made significant strides toward its goals with the support of the central government. She stated that e-governance will be further used as a tool for policy engagement and reform, with a focus on data integration. Priority will be given to the identification and mapping of beneficiaries, ensuring the smooth flow of information from central portals to the state level.

On this occasion, a pre-recorded message from Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh was broadcast. Additionally, the annual report of the Haryana Government Service Rights Commission for 2023-24 was released during the event.
