304 Setu Centers in the State for Workers – Labor Minister Dr. Suresh Khade
Mumbai : The Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has launched a new initiative. Previously, construction workers had to travel to district offices for registration, which was challenging due to their daily wage schedules. To address this, ‘Taluka Kamgar Suvidha Kendra’ or Setu Centers have been established at the taluka level. Labor Minister Dr. Suresh Khade announced that 358 Setu Centers are planned for the state, with 304 of them inaugurated online today.
The inauguration event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Labor Minister Dr. Suresh Khade, Public Works Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode, MLA Sanjay Rathod, Chief Secretary Smt., and Chief Executive Officer Vivek Kumhar.
Minister Dr. Khade emphasized that if workers encounter any difficulties, they can visit these Setu Centers to register or access other services. A booklet detailing the facilities available to workers has also been prepared, and the required documents for benefiting from this scheme have been outlined.
Minister Dr. Khade further announced that an international exhibition, Boiler India, will be held at Vashi in Navi Mumbai on September 25, 26, and 27, 2024. This exhibition will showcase various types of boilers, including international models, and offer guidance on their use. Major boiler industries from across the country have been invited to participate.
Additionally, Minister Dr. Khade addressed concerns about the salaries of judges in the labor courts. He reported that, following Supreme Court decisions, the matter was presented to the Cabinet and the salary adjustments were approved.
