Bhopal, June 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the life of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap symbolizes courage, valour, heroism and sacrifice. Merely remembering his name fills one’s heart with reverence. Despite immense hardships, Maharana Pratap always kept “Nation First” above everything else. Every section of society regards Maharana Pratap as an ideal personality for protecting the nation’s identity and self-respect. The Chief Minister said that Maharana Pratap was not merely a king but an unparalleled symbol of self-respect, courage and patriotism. He added that courage and bravery are the finest ornaments of mankind and the natural qualities of a great ruler. Maharana Pratap is synonymous with heroism. He endured countless hardships throughout his life but never deviated from his goal. His life continues to inspire the people of the nation even today.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views while addressing the State-Level Function organized on Wednesday at Maharana Pratap Nagar in Bhopal on the occasion of the 486th birth anniversary of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap. The Chief Minister participated in the social programme organized by the Sisodia-Rajput-Kshatriya community and paid floral tributes to the great warrior Maharana Pratap. On the occasion, he also honoured distinguished doctors, youth, sportspersons and social workers from the community.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government has constituted the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board with the highest priority and that today’s State-Level programme has been organized through this Board. He reiterated that the government is committed to preserving and carrying forward the legacy of great personalities.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has launched the PARTH Scheme through the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare for recruitment of youth into the Army and Police Forces, under which aspiring candidates are provided training. Most districts of the State have already been brought under the ambit of the scheme. The Chief Minister announced that all youth belonging to the Kshatriya community would also be provided systematic training under the scheme for recruitment into the Police, Army and other Security Forces. In addition, effective initiatives would also be undertaken for internship opportunities and placement support.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the remaining work of Maharana Pratap Lok would be completed expeditiously and the project would be inaugurated very soon. In coordination with the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board, the Government will present the glorious legacy of Maharana Pratap before the world.

The Chief Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh is the only State to have declared a public holiday on Maharana Pratap Jayanti. Announcing another major initiative, he said that the biography of Maharana Pratap would now be taught in schools. The Government is going to include inspiring episodes from Maharana Pratap’s life in the school curriculum so that future generations may draw inspiration from his courage and patriotism.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is establishing its leading position among the nations of the world. The Government is moving forward with the resolve of “Development through Heritage” and is working to present India’s glorious past before the world. He said that Maharana Pratap is an eternal source of inspiration for unparalleled bravery, valour, heroism and patriotism. Today’s birth anniversary celebration has brought the entire Kshatriya community together on one platform under the banner of the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the mighty Maharana Pratap’s armour weighed 72 kilograms and his spear weighed 80 kilograms, reflecting his extraordinary personality. He displayed exceptional courage in every battle. Stories of Maharana Pratap’s deep bond with his horse Chetak continue to evoke admiration and emotion.

The Chief Minister further said that the State Government has established the Samrat Vikramaditya Research Chair and has introduced the world to the illustrious life of Emperor Vikramaditya through the Vikramaditya Grand Theatre Production. Fellowships are being provided to youth for research on Samrat Vikramaditya. In addition, a grand museum dedicated to the martyr Shri Durgadas Rathore is also being developed on the banks of the holy Kshipra River in Ujjain.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the resolve given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to free the nation from the colonial mindset draws inspiration from Maharana Pratap himself. Referring to Maharana Pratap’s life of struggle, the Chief Minister said that he fought throughout his life to protect his motherland, culture and freedom, but never compromised on self-respect even under the most adverse circumstances. History bears witness that Maharana Pratap had to survive on bread made from grass during the most difficult period of his life, yet he never bowed before his adversaries. True to his name, he was indeed glorious and illustrious. His magnificent personality will forever remain immortal in the golden chapters of Indian history. The Chief Minister called upon the youth of the country and the State to imbibe the ideals of Maharana Pratap and contribute actively to nation-building.

Former Governor Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki said that the constitution of the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board is akin to establishing the spirit of valour in the State. Certain personalities are not confined by time, era or caste; they remain dedicated to the welfare of humanity, self-respect and the nation. The establishment of the Board is a commendable initiative to acquaint society with the virtues of a great warrior. Several States in the country are following the schemes introduced by Madhya Pradesh. Like Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Guru Gobind Singh also created a glorious history of sacrifice and heroism in Indian history. Today, the dream of Ram Rajya appears to be taking shape in the country. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, like Maharana Pratap, never bows before anyone and has received the highest honours from many countries across the world. Maharana Pratap never compromised in his life. After the fierce Battle of Haldighati, he lived in forests and survived on grass bread, yet never accepted subjugation. Even Emperor Akbar admired his bravery. To build a developed India by the year 2047, it is essential to take the values of Maharana Pratap’s life to the younger generation.

Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Maharana Pratap Welfare Board, Shri Keshav Singh Bhadauria, said that Maharana Pratap’s life is like an eternal idea that can never fade away. Maharana Pratap never compromised with Mughal rulers like Akbar and continued his struggle throughout his life. He even survived on grass bread while remaining devoted to the nation. The Battle of Haldighati stands as a symbol of his heroism. The State Government has included inspiring episodes from Maharana Pratap’s life in the academic curriculum, which is a highly commendable initiative. He also emphasized the need to train Kshatriya youth for recruitment into the armed forces.

The State-Level Function was attended by Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare and Cooperation Shri Vishvas Sarang, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor of Bhopal Smt. Malti Rai, Shri Rahul Kothari, Shri Arvind Singh Bhadauria, Shri Jaipal Singh, Shri Satyendra Bhushan Singh, Shri Rajpal Singh, Shri Balaji Jaswant Singh, other office-bearers of the Maharana Pratap Welfare Board, members of the community and a large number of citizens.
