Mizoram Chief Secretary Plants Tree for “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign
Aizawl : Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma participated in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign by planting saplings at the Chief Secretary’s residence today.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on World Environment Day to promote environmental conservation across the country. He encouraged all citizens to contribute to making the planet cleaner and pollution-free by planting a tree in their mother’s name.
In line with this initiative, the campaign has been launched in Mizoram, with trees being planted across various Forest Divisions. Today, Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma, along with her mother Smt. Prema Rani, participated by planting saplings. Officials from the EF&CC Department and the I&PR Department were also present on the occasion.
