A major accident occurred due to a building collapse in Sarojininagar; NDRF and SDRF teams take control of the rescue operations

Lucknow : In response to the building collapse in Sarojini nagar on Saturday evening, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promptly instructed the relevant departments and officials to rush to the scene and accelerate relief efforts.

Following CM Yogi’s directive, various departments, including the Relief Department, NDRF, SDRF, local police, and district administration, took control over the situation.

Several individuals were injured in the incident and have been transported to Lokbandhu Hospital and KGMU by ambulance for treatment.

CM Yogi expressed his sorrow over the accident on social media, wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured and assuring that the government stands by them during this difficult time.

On CM Yogi’s orders, the Additional Chief Secretary Home and ADG Law and Order arrived at the scene to oversee the relief operations.

Relief Commissioner GS Naveen said that many individuals were trapped under the debris following the collapse of a building in Transport Nagar, Sarojininagar, Lucknow. In response, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to immediately proceed to the site and expedite the relief efforts. Consequently, several teams from NDRF and SDRF were dispatched, and the local district administration, police, and hospital authorities were alerted.

He further stated: “Following CM Yogi’s instructions, Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob, District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar, and Police Commissioner Amarendra Singh Sengar arrived at the scene with their teams.”

ADM FR Rakesh Singh added that many individuals have been rescued from the debris during the ongoing operation. They have all been transported to Lokbandhu Hospital and KGMU by ambulance, where they are receiving treatment.

He explained that the three-story Harmilap building in Transport Nagar was used for pharmaceutical work. At the time of the accident, several employees were working there.

ADM FR stated that relief operations are ongoing, with debris being cleared through the operation. Additionally, on CM Yogi’s instructions, ACS Home Deepak Kumar and ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
