Hnahthial District Deputy Commissioner Holds Meeting with Sub Headquarters YMA Vigilance Committee
Hnahthial : Today, Hnahthial District Deputy Commissioner, Pi Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau, chaired a meeting with the Sub Headquarters YMA Hnahthial Vigilance Committee to discuss the condition of the National Highway in southern Hnahthial.
During the meeting, DC Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Sub Headquarters YMA Vigilance Committee in addressing the poor condition of the National Highway in southern Hnahthial. She acknowledged that the committee’s ongoing work to monitor and maintain the highway is crucial, as the road serves not only Hnahthial but also the neighboring districts of Lunglei, Siaha, and Lawngtlai, which rely heavily on this vital route. She emphasized the need for continued vigilance and efforts to improve the highway, especially since the road is not yet fully repaired and large vehicles still cannot pass through.
The DC also urged the committee members to continue advocating for the necessary repairs and improvements to the road, stressing the importance of ensuring that local communities support these efforts. Additionally, she noted that the condition of the Hnahthial bypass road, near the DC office, is also being closely monitored.
Members of the Sub Headquarters YMA Vigilance Committee, in turn, expressed their commitment to continue working on improving the National Highway. They thanked the Deputy Commissioner for her ongoing support and shared their concerns about the restrictions that currently only allow light motor vehicles (LMVs) to pass. They expressed hope that further improvements would soon be made to accommodate larger vehicles.
