Chief Minister inaugurates Dhaja Mohotsav at Shri Umiya Temple in Unjha
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Dhaja Festival with a Dhaja Pujan at Shri Umiya Mataji temple in Unjha, Mehsana district. During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.’ He urged everyone to inspire the new generation to preserve our cultural heritage and called for a united effort for the same. The CM also encouraged everyone to participate in the ‘Ek Pad Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting and nurturing trees to support a greener nation.
Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted the launch of cloth bag vending machines at 14 religious sites across the state, aimed at furthering the plastic-free campaign, and urged everyone to make use of these new machines. The Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 urges us to fulfil our civic duties and honour our heritage. He praised the Unjha Shri Umiya Mataji Sansthan for effectively utilising the community strength and serving as a model for other organizations.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitin Patel remarked that the Dhaja festival, a long-standing tradition, has been beautifully organized by the Ma Umiya Trust at Unjha. He noted the various social, educational, and religious initiatives undertaken by the Shri Umiya Mataji Institute, including efforts in education, health, and Samuh Lagna (concurrent weddings). He also emphasized the significance of hoisting flags at the temple to commemorate 1868 years of Maa Umiya’s manifestation and urged everyone to embrace the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Sauno Sath, Sauno Vikas, Sauno Vishvas, Sauno Prayas”.

At the event, Shri Babubhai Patel, President of the organization and MLA of Daskroi, commended the Dhaja festival at Unjha Umiya for uniting various communities. He conveyed pride in how education has empowered the community to contribute to the state’s progress. On the occasion, the Chief Minister digitally launched Maa Umiya Mataji’s Anand Na Garba, honoured the donors, and acknowledged distinguished community members. The CM also flagged off the procession at the end of the program.
Shri Dilip Patel, Honorary Minister of the Institute, welcomed attendees and highlighted the Ma Umiya Mataji Institute’s extensive service activities. The gathering included MP Shri Haribhai Patel, MLA Shri Kirit Patel, as well as Shri Mukesh Patel, District Panchayat President Smt. Trushaben Patel, Shri Babubhai K. Patel, Shri Govind Varmora, Shri Narayan Patel, Shri Girish Rajgor, and numerous other prominent community members, officials, and trustees.
