Geo Parsi Workshop to be Held on 14th September

Mumbai : The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, has organized a Geo Parsi workshop at the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Auditorium, Mumbai, on Saturday, 14th September 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., extending till 3:30 p.m. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Maharashtra State Minister for Minority Development Abdul Sattar will engage with the Parsi community during the event.

The Centre introduced the Geo Parsi Yojana to stabilize and increase the Parsi population in India. Under the scheme’s Medical and Health of Community (HOC) component, Parsi couples are provided financial assistance. This assistance is disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after biometric authentication and verification by the state government. The workshop aims to spread awareness about the scheme to as many members of the Parsi community as possible.

Prominent community leaders, including Parsi chief preacher Mr. Udwara Dasturji, National Commission for Minorities Chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura, and Vice Chairman Kersi K. Debu, will also be present. The Minority Development Department has urged Parsi citizens to take full advantage of this opportunity.
