Thane, Palghar, Raigad Record Highest Rainfall in Maharashtra

Mumbai, July 2026 : According to district-wise rainfall data available until 4:00 p.m., Maharashtra recorded an average rainfall of 31.7 mm across the state. Thane district received the highest rainfall at 196.9 mm, followed by Palghar (185.4 mm), Raigad (134.1 mm), Mumbai Suburban (125 mm), Pune (69.4 mm), and Mumbai City (62.1 mm).

Since the onset of the southwest monsoon on June 1, Raigad district has recorded the highest cumulative rainfall in the state at 1,480.7 mm. It is followed by Palghar (1,295.4 mm), Ratnagiri (1,273.4 mm), Thane (1,103 mm), and Sindhudurg (1,001.4 mm). During the same period, Mumbai City has received 510.7 mm of rainfall, while Mumbai Suburban has recorded 512.7 mm.

The monsoon remains active across several districts in the Konkan, North Maharashtra, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions. Most parts of the state have been experiencing widespread rainfall, with heavy showers indicating that the southwest monsoon is progressing vigorously across Maharashtra.
