New Delhi, July 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated 45 new Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs for different parts of the capital from Shakurpur. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the day marked an important milestone for Delhi’s healthcare sector. She said the initiative was not merely about opening new health centres but a significant step towards ensuring that every resident of the capital has access to quality, affordable and dignified healthcare. The government’s objective, she said, is to ensure that no citizen has to travel long distances for basic medical care and that better treatment is available on time.
MLA from Tri Nagar Shri Tilak Ram Gupta, along with public representatives, officials of the Health Department, doctors, nursing staff and a large number of local residents, attended the programme. The Chief Minister said that with the inauguration of these new centres, more than 415 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs are now providing quality and accessible primary healthcare services close to people’s homes across Delhi. She expressed confidence that the Delhi Government would soon achieve its target of establishing more than 1,100 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs.
The Chief Minister said the Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs offer general OPD services, maternal and child healthcare, routine immunisation, free screening for non-communicable diseases, essential medicines, health counselling and nearly 80 types of free diagnostic tests. She added that the centres would also place special emphasis on disease prevention, early detection, timely treatment and health awareness. She said the government’s aim is not only to treat illnesses but also to encourage people to adopt a healthier lifestyle. She urged citizens to undergo regular health check-ups, maintain a balanced lifestyle and make yoga and exercise a part of their daily routine.
Tri Nagar gets development projects worth ₹14.25 crore
Following the programme in Shakurpur, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also inaugurated development projects worth around ₹14.25 crore in the Tri Nagar Assembly constituency. The projects include the reconstruction of five roads and a drain in the Netaji Subhash Place area. The beautification of Samrat Enclave Market was also launched. In addition, the Chief Minister inaugurated development works at Gurjar Chaupal, Saini Chaupal and the Shakurpur cremation ground. Along with this, eight major roads developed by the PWD at a cost of ₹6.25 crore, including Lawrence Road, Maharshi Parashuram Marg, Parwana Road, G & H Shakurpur Road, Ekalavya Marg, Thiruvalluvar Marg, and Veer Hemu Marg, were also inaugurated.
The Chief Minister said the Delhi Government is continuously working to strengthen healthcare, infrastructure and civic amenities across the capital. The objective, she said, is to build a system where every citizen has timely access to healthcare, better roads and modern public facilities, enabling Delhi to move forward as a healthier, more prosperous and developed capital. She said that, for the first time, development work is being carried out on a large scale across every Assembly constituency, covering roads, drains, colonies and slum clusters. She added that the Tri Nagar Assembly constituency had struggled with inadequate basic infrastructure for years, but extensive development work is now underway in the area. The people, she said, have elected a government that places the highest priority on public service and development.
