Boost Farmers Income through Natural Farming and Value Addition to Agricultural Produce : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has urged farmers to enhance their income by adopting advanced agricultural technologies, promoting natural farming and adding value to agricultural produce. He said that a self-reliant and prosperous agriculture sector is the strongest foundation of a developed Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister, extending his greetings on the occasion of Balram Krishi Mahotsav, called upon farmers to embrace modern farming practices, encourage agricultural innovation and make maximum use of government welfare schemes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was virtually addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organised in Dhar district under Farmer Welfare Year–2026.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed the gathering that the State Government has undertaken extensive public consultations on the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh. He said that after discussions with representatives of various political parties, religious groups and communities, the government will complete the necessary legislative process during the forthcoming Monsoon Session of the State Legislative Assembly and take a significant step in this direction. The Chief Minister added that equal laws and equal rights for all citizens would further strengthen the democratic system.
The primary objective of the Balram Krishi Mahotsav was to create awareness among farmers about modern agricultural technologies, natural farming, value addition to agricultural produce, farm mechanisation and various schemes of the Agriculture Department and allied sectors. The programme also featured cultural performances based on agriculture and patriotism. As part of the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan, participating farmers and citizens were encouraged to contribute towards building a drug-free society.
Farmers were motivated to adopt natural farming, promote value addition to agricultural produce and install solar pumps under the PM-KUSUM-B Scheme to achieve greater self-reliance in agriculture.
The Mahotsav featured exhibitions by the Agriculture Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Natural Farming Mission, Balram Talab Scheme, Micro Irrigation Programme, Water Conservation initiatives, Shree Anna (Millets), the Animal Husbandry Department, the Fisheries Department, IFFCO, KRIBHCO and other agriculture-related organisations. Farmers visited the exhibition stalls and obtained information on various government schemes, technologies and best agricultural practices.
Nearly 2,000 farmers from across Dhar district participated in the Balram Krishi Mahotsav. Representatives of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), farmer organisations, agricultural input dealers, and officials and staff of the Agriculture Department and allied departments were also present in large numbers. The Mahotsav served as an effective platform for farmers to learn about agricultural innovations, scientific farming techniques and various government welfare schemes.
