State-of-the-Art Medical College to be Established in Tikamgarh: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the State Government is working continuously for the holistic development of the Bundelkhand region, which is emerging as a new investment destination. He said development initiatives in education, healthcare, sports and infrastructure are giving fresh momentum to the region’s progress. The Chief Minister said that Bundelkhand is undergoing a remarkable transformation. He said that the State Government is making determined efforts to usher in prosperity through the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, recalling that farmers in the region had long suffered due to water scarcity, poverty and limited employment opportunities. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that once the national river-linking project is completed, Bundelkhand would surpass even Punjab and Haryana in agricultural productivity. He said the mega project would provide irrigation to thousands of hectares of farmland in Tikamgarh district, ensuring adequate water for agriculture and significantly enhancing farmers’ incomes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a programme organised in Khargapur of Tikamgarh district on Friday to inaugurate and perform Bhoomi Poojan for various development works. He dedicated and laid the foundation stones for 72 development projects worth more than ₹189 crore. The projects include the inauguration of 33 works costing ₹102.45 crore and the foundation laying of 39 projects worth ₹86.66 crore.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, making an important announcement for the district, that a state-of-the-art medical college equipped with all modern facilities would be established in Tikamgarh, and its foundation stone would be laid shortly. He also distributed benefits to eligible beneficiaries under various government welfare schemes. The Chief Minister said that Tikamgarh district has received the significant gift of an Amrit Bharat Railway Station. He added that fully equipped Sandipani School buildings at Jatara and Badagaon Dhasan, along with new infrastructure works in 16 schools, have also been dedicated. The Chief Minister further noted that a synthetic hockey astroturf stadium and a basketball court have been inaugurated to promote sports among the district’s youth. The Bhoomi Poojan for a new Sandipani School building, to be constructed at a cost of ₹40 crore in Khargapur, was also performed.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the State Government is providing quality education integrated with value-based learning through Sandipani Schools in keeping with the changing needs of the times. He said these institutions symbolise the timeless friendship of Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama and are being developed to provide future generations with modern educational facilities that combine academic excellence with cultural values. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh had only 7.5 lakh hectares of irrigated land in 2002-03, but the State Government has since expanded the irrigated area to 65 lakh hectares. He added that the government is working towards the ambitious target of bringing one crore hectares under irrigation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the State Government is continuously strengthening the economic empowerment of women through the Ladli Behna Yojana. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is moving towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in matters relating to marriage, divorce and inheritance. He added that the government is developing religious places across the state in a grand manner while working impartially for the welfare of people of all religions and communities. The Chief Minister said that under the Ladli Behna Yojana, every eligible beneficiary receives equal benefits irrespective of religion. He remarked that if Rani receives ₹1,500 every month, Rukhsana is equally entitled to the same benefit under the scheme.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, referring to the Krishak kalyan Varsh, the State Government is making every possible effort to enhance farmers’ prosperity. To boost milk production, assistance and subsidies are being provided to livestock owners through the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme and other initiatives. He said that gaushalas are being provided financial assistance of ₹40 per cow per day, while dairy farmers are now receiving remunerative prices for milk through the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The Chief Minister added that the government is also promoting fish production to improve the livelihoods of the state’s fishing community.

Former Minister and MLA from Jatara, Shri Harishankar Khatik, also addressed the gathering. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backwards Classes and Minority Welfare and District In-charge Minister for Tikamgarh, Smt. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Forest and Environment Shri Dilip Ahirwar, other public representatives and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
