Bihar CM Flags Off 48 Police Buses, 30 Patrol Vehicles and 6 Ambulances to Strengthen Policing
Patna, July 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday flagged off 48 police buses, 30 four-wheeler patrol vehicles, and six ambulances for use by the Bihar Police, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to strengthening law and order through modern infrastructure and enhanced mobility.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the new fleet from a stage set up in front of the ‘Samvad’ building at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna. He also ceremonially flagged off the vehicles for deployment across the state.
Before the launch, the Chief Minister reviewed the operational features of the new vehicles and received a detailed briefing from officials regarding their functionality and intended deployment.
Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary said that the induction of these vehicles would significantly improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Bihar Police. He noted that the enhanced fleet would enable faster response to emergencies, strengthen patrolling arrangements, and make policing more efficient across the state.
The Chief Minister reiterated that maintaining law and order remains the Bihar government’s highest priority and that the administration is committed to equipping the police force with modern facilities and advanced resources. He said the new vehicles would bolster crime control efforts, facilitate swift action during emergencies, and further strengthen public safety.
He added that the state government has been consistently working to modernise the Bihar Police by providing advanced equipment and infrastructure. With the addition of the new buses, patrol vehicles and ambulances, the police force’s rapid response capability will improve considerably, while regular patrolling will become more effective, ensuring better security and enhanced police services for the people.
During the programme, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a green sapling.
Among those present at the event were Deputy Chief Minister Vijayendra Prasad Yadav, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, Home Department Secretary Kundan Kumar, senior police officials including Director General (Vigilance) J.S. Gangwar, Director General (Operations) Kundan Krishnan, and other senior government officials.
