Iran Warns US Against ‘Adventurous’ Actions, Vows Firm Response to Any Aggression

Tehran, Aug 2026 : Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States against taking any “adventurous” action against Iran, saying those responsible would have to face the consequences of their decisions.

Araghchi issued the warning during separate telephone conversations with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, as the officials discussed the latest developments in the region, Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

During his conversations with Munir and Fidan, Araghchi said Iran remained fully prepared to protect its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security. He stressed that Tehran would respond decisively to any act of aggression against the country.

In his discussion with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal, Araghchi warned that any hostile action by the United States or Israel, as well as any regional support for such action, would trigger a firm and proportionate response from Iran’s armed forces.

The Iranian Foreign Minister’s remarks came amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington following renewed exchanges of airstrikes after a brief pause in hostilities. Iran has accused the United States of escalating pressure and undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.

On Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry alleged that Washington had violated a memorandum of understanding reached between the two countries in mid-June. Tehran cited continued US strikes on Iranian targets, what it described as a blockade of Iranian ports and commercial shipping, and increased economic pressure.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Tehran would continue to resist what it termed “unlawful aggression” and would firmly defend the country’s national dignity, independence and sovereignty.

The latest escalation follows several rounds of US strikes on Iranian targets before the temporary pause. Washington had said the military operations were carried out in response to Iranian attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and were intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the strategically important waterway.

Araghchi has also issued a warning to Britain over any possible military cooperation with the United States in operations against Iran. During a phone conversation with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Friday, he said any British cooperation with what Tehran considers “aggressors” would be unacceptable, including cooperation carried out under existing defence agreements.

The warning reflects Iran’s growing concern over the possibility of Western military facilities or regional partners being used in operations against Iranian targets.

Iran has repeatedly maintained that it will defend itself against any attack, while urging regional countries to avoid becoming involved in the conflict. Tehran has also sought diplomatic engagement with neighbouring states, including Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, amid efforts to prevent further escalation.

With tensions remaining high, Araghchi’s latest statements underline Iran’s position that any further military action against the country would face a direct response. The diplomatic exchanges with key regional powers also indicate Tehran’s efforts to communicate its security concerns while keeping channels open with neighbouring countries.
