Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the government is committed to working hand-in-hand with industrialists to foster development. We are eager to collaborate with a positive and cooperative mindset, and Madhya Pradesh warmly welcomes industrialists with open arms. He emphasized India’s global leadership in reasoning, intelligence and capability, but noted that for success, governance must be positive and supportive. “Progress can only be achieved through coordination, a constructive attitude, and a conducive environment across all levels of governance.Dr. Yadav highlighted the vast potential for industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh, inviting entrepreneurs from all regions, whether Coimbatore or Kolkata, to bring their ideas and creativity to the state. The government, he assured, is prepared to offer full support and assistance.He welcomed investments across various sectors, including ready-made garments, mining, energy, tourism, and both medium and heavy industries. The state’s industrial policies, he noted, are flexible and inclusive to meet the needs of diverse businesses. Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is ready to welcome industries with an open heart. CM Dr Yadav was addressing a roadshow in Kolkata and an interactive session with industrialists on the state’s investment opportunities.
About 700 delegates from India and abroad and Consulates and representatives of many countries took part
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the summit at Hotel JW Marriott, Kolkata, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The summit was part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting investment and industrial growth across all regions of Madhya Pradesh to ensure balanced economic development. To achieve this, a session was organized in Kolkata as part of a series of roadshows held in major industrial cities across the country, engaging directly with industrialists.
Prominent figures in attendance included CII President and Chairman and MD of ITC Group, Shri Sanjeev Puri, MD and CEO of Madhya Pradesh Birla Group, Shri Sandeep Ghosh, MD of Swara Hygiene Pvt. Ltd., Shri Alok Birla, and MD of Tata Steels, Shri Sandeep Kumar. During the inaugural session, a short film was screened, showcasing the infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities available for industrial expansion and investment in Madhya Pradesh.The event drew around 700 delegates from India and abroad, as well as representatives from various consulates and countries. This platform facilitated direct communication between industrialists and the government, aimed at boosting investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and strengthening business relationships.
Investments worth Rs 19 thousand 270 crore received from various sectors
Kolkata Summit received investments worth Rs 19,270 crore from various sectors including food processing, chemicals, cement, steel, plastics and renewable energy, which will generate 9,450 employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s economy has risen from 11th to 5th place globally, congratulating the Prime Minister on this significant achievement. He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi is working towards making India the third-largest economy in the world and Madhya Pradesh is fully committed to contributing to this goal. Dr. Yadav extended an invitation to the industrialists of West Bengal, encouraging them to expand their ventures in Madhya Pradesh. He urged them to explore the vast opportunities available in the state, leveraging their talent, skills, and capabilities to grow their businesses. He stressed the importance of utilizing time wisely and moving forward for both personal progress and the nation’s development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. Dr. Yadav called for determination and mutual cooperation in driving the growth of industries, the state, and the country toward a prosperous future.
Indian Culture Fosters both Governance and Economic Prosperity
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav remarked that Kolkata is the city of Mahakali, while he hails from Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. He noted that Mahakal and Mahakali are the creators of the universe and that Kolkata holds special divine blessings. It was here that Swami Vivekananda predicted the 21st century would belong to India, and his Guru, Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, founded the Ramakrishna Mission, focusing on human spirituality and committing to improve the lives of the poor in India through the path of Karma. Dr. Yadav also referenced Samrat Vikramaditya, renowned for his exemplary governance, embodying qualities such as generosity, bravery, justice, and courage. He highlighted that in India, economic prosperity is deeply intertwined with good governance. Recognizing the importance of wealth in life, he noted that Diwali, the festival of prosperity, is celebrated annually, symbolizing joy and enthusiasm for all. He emphasized that Indian culture follows the principle of “live and let live,” promoting harmony and well-being.With this philosophy, the state government is committed to ensuring balanced economic development across Madhya Pradesh. In pursuit of this goal, the Regional Industry Conclaves are being organized at the regional level to foster growth and opportunity.
Presentation on industrial policies, infrastructure, and resources of the state
Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Shri Raghavendra Singh gave a presentation on the industrial policies of the state, better infrastructure, stable administrative support, and incentives given to investors. Additional Chief Secretary of Science and Technology Shri Sanjay Dubey gave a presentation on investment in IT, ITES, and ESDM sectors in the state, policies of the state, and available resources.
Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, Secretary of the Department, shared information regarding investment, and policies in the field of small and medium enterprises and specially developed industrial areas on this important platform of direct communication between industrialists and the government. Along with the display of video films on the various tourism destinations and investment opportunities of the state, to establish the state as a major investment destination, Additional MD, M.P. Tourism Board Sushri Bidisha Mukherjee gave a presentation. MD State Mining Corporation Shri Anurag Chaudhary also gave a presentation on the abundant natural resources available in the state and investment opportunities in the mining and mineral sector.
Industrialists working in Madhya Pradesh share their experiences
President of the Confederation of Indian Industries and Chairman and MD ITC Shri Sanjiv Puri shared his experiences on the industrial activities conducted by their group in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Puri praised the investment-friendly and timely industrial policies of Madhya Pradesh and the favorable environment of the state for the industry as well as the common people. MD and CEO MP Birla Group Shri Sandeep Ghose said that a cement unit will soon be set up in Badnagar, Ujjain at a cost of Rs 3500 crore. Shri Ghosh expressed the need to start air service from Kolkata to Bhopal and Jabalpur. He said that MP Birla Group has made maximum investment in Madhya Pradesh only.
Swara Hygiene shifts its business from Kolkata to Indore
MD Swara Hygiene Pvt. Ltd. Shri Alok Birla said that Madhya Pradesh is a land of opportunities along with operational ease and peace. His company, a manufacturer of diapers and other hygiene products, has shifted its entire business from Kolkata to Indore. In the year 2017, an investment of Rs 40 crore was made in Madhya Pradesh, which has now become Rs 500 crore. They are expanding their activities with an investment of Rs 300 crore in an area of 37 acres.
