Chief Minister Allocates ₹263 Crore for Flyover and Vehicular Underpass Construction

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a major step by approving ₹ 262.56 crore for the development of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana-Palanpur road as part of a high-speed corridor. Under his leadership, the state government has allocated funds in this year’s budget to upgrade heavily trafficked highways into High-Speed Corridors, with a total estimated investment of ₹ 3,100 crore. This initiative focuses on enhancing transportation with stronger road infrastructure and safer travel routes. Six high-speed corridors are being developed as part of this effort, including Vataman-Pipli, Surat-Sachin-Navsari, Ahmedabad-Dakor, Bhuj-Bhachau, Rajkot-Bhavnagar, and Mehsana-Palanpur. To support these projects, the Chief Minister has approved the construction of flyovers, vehicular underpasses, and new bridges over three rivers on the Mehsana-Unjha-Siddhpur-Palanpur highway in North Gujarat for 2023-24. Additionally, ₹262.56 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of another flyover and two vehicular underpasses, further enhancing the region’s road network.

A new six-lane flyover bridge, with an investment of ₹ 136 crore, is set to be constructed at Radhanpur Circle in Mehsana to address heavy traffic. In addition, a six-lane vehicular underpass at Nagalpur Cross Road, estimated at ₹ 54.40 crore, will be built to reduce accidents, along with another underpass at Unawa, costing ₹ 72.16 crore. These initiatives, led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, will significantly enhance road connectivity for the people of North Gujarat, providing safer, quicker, and more efficient access to Ahmedabad. In August, the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved the Tharad-Mehsana-Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor. As part of the Bharatmala project, ₹ 10,534 crore has been allocated for the construction of this 214 km six-lane expressway. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned ₹ 262.56 crore for the development of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana-Palanpur road under the High-Speed Corridor project, aimed at strengthening the road network connected to the National High-Speed Corridor.
