Maharashtra Leads in Industry, Infrastructure, and Foreign Investment – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at India Today Conclave 2024

Mumbai : Maharashtra ranks at the top in industry, infrastructure, and foreign investment. A significant amount of investment is being made in the state across sectors, including semiconductors. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that Maharashtra has become an industry-friendly state due to the facilities and infrastructure provided to businesses.

Chief Minister Shinde participated in the India Today Conclave 2024. During the event, India Today Editor Rajdeep Sardesai and Executive Editor Sahil Joshi interviewed him on various topics.

“About five lakh crores were invested during the Davos summit. In addition, investments in solar energy and semiconductors are increasing. Recently, a semiconductor project was initiated in Navi Mumbai. A large number of industries are coming to the state due to increased confidence among entrepreneurs. Maharashtra has developed a vast infrastructure network. Projects like Atal Setu and the Sagri Kinara route have reduced travel time significantly. The metro network is expanding, and Metro 3, an underground metro line, will soon launch, accommodating about 13 lakh daily passengers. The expansion of the port is a transformative project for the state, with plans to launch an airport at Pradhan, and Navi Mumbai Airport is also set to open soon. We are committed to making Mumbai’s roads pothole-free in the next two years and extending this effort across the state,” Shinde said.

The Chief Minister emphasized that his governance focuses on the common man, highlighting the “Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister” scheme, which is boosting the economy. Funds have been allocated, and the scheme will continue to support the public. Schemes like the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, Annapurna Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Yuva Work Training Schemes will contribute to making India a five trillion-dollar economy. These initiatives will benefit common families, and nearly five crore citizens have benefited from the government’s ‘Dari’ scheme.

Over the past two years, Maharashtra has developed at full capacity. “I don’t stay in the ‘Varsha’ government residence. I meet with people in the ministry, as they are my energy. I work with the understanding that CM means Common Man. I aim to address the issues of the common man and find solutions,” Shinde added.

The Chief Minister also mentioned several key initiatives for farmers, including the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, where farmers receive Rs. 6,000, and an additional Rs. 6,000 from the state government. The state also offers crop insurance for just one rupee, which has greatly benefited farmers.
