Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh lauds Uttar Pradesh’s initiatives and progress in the textiles sector
Greater Noida/Lucknow : The Khadi fashion show, held on the third day of the UP International Trade Show on Friday, offered a captivating glimpse into the cultural richness of Uttar Pradesh. The event drew significant interest from attendees, who admired the exquisite showcase of sarees and other traditional garments.
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, the chief guest, commended the state government’s efforts in promoting Khadi, highlighting its crucial role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F vision (Farm to Fiber to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign). He also underscored the development of PM Mitra Parks in Lucknow and Unnao as key drivers for growth in the textile sector.
Giriraj Singh further shared that the Apparel Park, currently under construction at Yamuna Expressway with a ₹10,000 crore investment spearheaded by the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), is expected to generate vast employment opportunities in the next 2-3 years, particularly benefiting women’s economic and social empowerment.
During his visit, the Union Minister toured various pavilions at the International Trade Show, expressing his appreciation for their design and the range of products and initiatives on display. He also took part in awarding the best pavilion at the event.
A session on “Financing for a One Trillion Dollar Economy,” chaired by Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, reaffirmed the State’s unwavering commitment to reaching this ambitious goal. Khanna emphasized the importance of strategic investments, public-private partnerships, and financial inclusion as key drivers for accelerating growth and fostering economic resilience.
The day’s events concluded on a high note with a stunning laser show, followed by a vibrant musical performance by Indian Idol stars Pawandeep and Arunita, leaving attendees in high spirits.
