The Maharashtra State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s OFB Tech Pvt. Ltd., through its Industries Department, to boost the textile industry in Wardha district. OFB Tech Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s largest business-to-business companies with an annual turnover of ₹25,000 crores, will invest ₹750 crore in Karanja (Gha) MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) to expand its textile operations. This investment is expected to generate approximately 15,000 jobs, according to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Present at the signing ceremony were Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department Harshdeep Kamble, Secretary Virendra Singh, and representatives from OFB Tech Pvt. Ltd., including Ashish Mohapatra, Yogesh Mandani, Rajesh Chawde, Vikram Singh, Anurag Soni, and L.L. Soni.

The project will strengthen the industrial sector in Wardha, particularly in the underdeveloped Vidarbha region, by utilizing the region’s abundant raw materials, affordable resources, and available industrial plots for textile manufacturing. The investment will also provide significant employment opportunities, particularly for women artisans, with industries expected to operate in rural areas using the hub-and-spoke model.

With raw materials readily available in nearby rural areas, the project will not only support the textile industry but also drive economic development in the region, creating substantial employment and fostering industrial growth.
