Distribution of Funds under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Schemes on October 5 – Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde

Mumbai : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute the 18th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the 5th installment of the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana for the period August 2024 to November 2024. The event will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Pohradevi (Taluka Manora), Washim district. Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Yavatmal-Washim Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod, and other dignitaries will attend the event, according to Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) Yojana was launched by the Central Government in February 2019 to provide a fixed income to farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmer families (husband, wife, and children under 18 years) receive Rs. 2000 per installment, with three equal installments totaling Rs. 6000 annually. The payments are made to their Aadhaar-linked and DBT-enabled active bank accounts. To date, a total of 17 installments, amounting to approximately Rs. 32,000 crores, have been disbursed under this scheme.

Similarly, the Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Yojana has been implemented in Maharashtra from the year 2023-24, modeled after the PM Kisan Yojana. Since the 14th installment of PM Kisan, this scheme has been providing benefits to eligible farmer families in the state. The Government of Maharashtra has disbursed a total of Rs. 6,949.68 crores so far. Thanks to special village-level campaigns conducted since June 2023, over 20 lakh farmers have completed the mandatory requirements for PM Kisan Yojana, placing Maharashtra as the second highest in the country in terms of eligible farmer families.

A total of 91.52 lakh farmer families, who have updated their land records, linked their Aadhaar to their bank accounts, and completed eKYC, will receive benefits through the 18th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, amounting to over Rs. 1,900 crores. Additionally, under the state’s Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, Rs. 2,000 crores will be transferred directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of farmers.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi will deposit a total benefit of Rs. 4,000 (Rs. 2,000 from PM Kisan Yojana and Rs. 2,000 from Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana) into the bank accounts of approximately 91.52 lakh eligible farmer families in Maharashtra.
