PM Modi to Chair High-Level Meeting with Top Bureaucrats to Review Key Governance Reforms
New Delhi, June 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level meeting with the secretaries of all Central government ministries and departments on Tuesday to review the progress of key governance reforms aimed at improving the country’s Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living, while accelerating the government’s vision of a developed India.
According to official sources, the meeting will bring together the country’s top civil servants to assess the implementation of major policy initiatives, evaluate the status of administrative reforms, and identify measures to further simplify regulations, enhance governance, and improve public service delivery.
The review is expected to focus on advancing the government’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by streamlining regulatory frameworks, promoting the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, and strengthening administrative efficiency across ministries and departments.
Scheduled to begin at 4.30 p.m., the meeting will mark Prime Minister Modi’s second comprehensive interaction with secretaries of all Central ministries. During the session, senior bureaucrats are expected to make detailed presentations outlining the progress of reforms, policy implementation, and developmental initiatives undertaken by their respective ministries.
The discussions are likely to centre on the government’s flagship reform agenda, with particular emphasis on further improving the Ease of Doing Business for industry and investors, while enhancing the Ease of Living for citizens through better governance and efficient public services.
Officials are also expected to present updates on structural reforms undertaken in their departments, review implementation timelines, and highlight areas that require greater attention to ensure the timely execution of key government programmes.
The meeting assumes added significance in the backdrop of the Centre’s recently launched “52 Reforms in 52 Weeks” initiative, an ambitious programme being implemented across several ministries, including the Railways, with clearly defined timelines for execution.
Prime Minister Modi has consistently stressed the importance of achieving measurable outcomes within fixed deadlines, making regular reviews an integral part of the government’s governance framework. The initiative seeks to accelerate reforms, improve administrative processes, reduce compliance burdens, and create a more business-friendly and citizen-centric governance ecosystem.
The review meeting is expected to provide ministries with an opportunity to assess the progress made so far, address implementation challenges, strengthen inter-ministerial coordination, and ensure that reform measures translate into tangible benefits for businesses and the public.
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Modi concluded his three-day State visit to Seychelles, where he attended the island nation’s golden jubilee National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour at the invitation of Seychelles President Patrick Herminie.
Before departing for New Delhi, the Prime Minister interacted with members of the Indian community who had gathered outside the airport to bid him farewell. Amid chants of “Modi, Modi” and “Vande Mataram” and waving Indian flags, he greeted the diaspora and thanked them for their warm reception. He also paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Peace Park in Seychelles before concluding his visit.
