Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii Visits Champhai for Hnahsin Kut Preparations

Champhai : Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii arrived in Champhai this afternoon as part of her visit to oversee preparations for the upcoming Hnahsin Kut festival. She was received at the Circuit House by Champhai District Commissioner Pu VL Remliana, along with other government officials.

During a meeting with the officials, Pi Lalrinpuii emphasized the strategic importance of Champhai as a gateway to the Indo-Myanmar border, urging government employees to act as key facilitators in its development. She also pointed out the serious challenges posed by HIV/AIDS in Mizoram, stressing the need for collaboration between individuals, organizations, churches, and communities to effectively combat the issue.

The Minister praised Champhai’s community for organizing the grand Hnahsin Kut festival, which highlights the culture and spirit of the people. She emphasized that community-based tourism can lead to further development and progress in the region. She also announced that the Mizoram government has allocated ₹10 crore to support the Hnahsin Kut festival.

Pi Lalrinpuii expressed her confidence that the efforts of government employees would bring about positive changes and encouraged them to continue working diligently.

Tomorrow morning, the Minister is scheduled to visit the District Hospital, the Chief Medical Officer’s office, and the Nursing School. Following her engagement at the Hnahsin Kut event, she will return to Aizawl.
