179 Mahtari Sadan approved, Mahtari Sadan to be built in 2500 sq. ft.

As per the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, the construction of Mahtari Sadan is to be done in every Gram Panchayat of the state with the objective of making rural women self-reliant and self-sufficient and establishing mutual harmony, collective participation in common programs and women empowerment. With the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, the approval order for 179 Mahtari Sadan has been issued. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the participation of women is continuously increasing in the growth cycle of New India. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan is linking the potential of women with the development of the country. The Mahtari Sadan to be built in the Gram Panchayats of the state is also an effort in this direction. He said that during the continuous village tour, women complained about the lack of a place to sit and demanded a place to sit, so the idea of ​​​​building Mahtari Sadan came up. Thereafter, the state government is going to build Mahtari Sadan in villages to provide employment to women and to provide them a place to work. Approval for 179 Mahtari Sadan has been issued to fulfill this objective. In view of uniformity in works, a standard design and estimate of work has been prepared by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. The cost of each Mahtari Sadan will be Rs 29.20 lakh. The said work will be done by convergence of Rs 24.70 lakh from the budget of Mahtari Sadan Yojana and Rs 4.50 lakh from the budget of Swachh Bharat Mission. In this way, Rs 52 crore 20 lakh has been sanctioned for 179 Mahtari Sadans.

Plan to build Mahtari Sadan in all Gram Panchayats in 5 years

Mahtari Sadan will be built in all the Gram Panchayats of the state. The construction of Mahtari Sadan has started. In the first phase, Mahtari Sadan will be built in every development block of the state and in 5 years Mahtari Sadan will be built in all the Gram Panchayats. The
Mahtari Sadan to be built in the state will be constructed in about 2500 square feet. The Sadan will have facilities like room, toilet, veranda, hall, kitchen and storeroom. Water harvesting will also be done along with tube well for water. Boundary walls will also be built for the safety of women. Community toilets will also be constructed in Mahtari Sadan.
