Important Contribution of Industry in the Progress of Baramati City – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Baramati, October 8: Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar stated that the city of Baramati has a rich heritage of industry and business, with entrepreneurs making significant contributions to the industrial development of the area. He assured that efforts would be made to address the challenges facing the industry and to resolve pending issues.

He spoke at an entrepreneurs’ meeting organized by the Baramati Industrial Development Association (BIDA). Present at the event were BIDA President Dhananjay Jamdar, Vice President Manohar Gawde, Secretary Anant Awachat, Minor Dar Abirshah Sheikh, Baramati Cooperative Bank President Sachin Satav, office bearers, and entrepreneurs.

Mr. Pawar highlighted that various entrepreneurs have successfully established businesses in the Baramati Industrial Development Corporation area. Currently, there are about 650 companies employing around 50,000 workers, whose families depend on their livelihoods through MIDC.

The Industrial Sector’s Important Role in State Development

The industrial sector plays a crucial role in the development of both the country and the state. Industries contribute significantly to transforming the cities and surrounding areas. The market is bolstered by small-scale industries, which create jobs that depend on larger industries. He emphasized the vital contribution of entrepreneurs to the development process, noting its impact on the economy.

Striving for Employment Growth

A new project worth Rs 2,000 crore will be launched on 50 acres of land in MIDC in the near future, providing employment to 1,500 local residents. Instructions have been issued at the ministry level, and action has been initiated to expedite the completion of all necessary processes.

Efforts to Provide Convenience to the Industrial Sector

Baramati offers a conducive environment for industry, with various infrastructure facilities such as electricity, water, and gas being provided. Efforts are also underway to maintain a cordial and harmonious relationship between entrepreneurs and workers. A regional office has been established in Baramati to address industry-related issues. Renovation work on the MIDC Rest House has commenced, and projects have been initiated at Baramati Airport to facilitate night landings. A proposal has been submitted to the Central Government regarding the establishment of a ‘Dry Port’ for the export of industrial and agricultural products. The state government remains committed to supporting the growth of industry in the area.

Encouraging Entrepreneurs to Cooperate with Police on Security

To enhance the safety of women, ‘Shakti Peti’ (safety boxes) should be installed at the entrance of every company as part of the Shakti Abhiyan initiative. In accordance with Supreme Court directives, the Visakha Committee should be established in every company. Increased police patrols will be implemented to curb rising crime in the area, with vehicles allocated for this purpose, as stated by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawar.

He also suggested that more CCTV cameras be installed on company premises for security. A list of scrap buyers should be prepared, and companies must inform the police station about any workers with criminal tendencies and any extortion demands.

At this time, Mr. Jamdar shared his thoughts.
