State Government’s Focus on Job Creation through Skilled Education – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Renaming Ceremony of the Government Industrial Training Institute, Malegaon Bu, Baramati

Baramati : State Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized that the future of the country depends on students. He stated that in today’s competitive era, students should pursue skilled education rather than traditional education.

He was speaking at the renaming ceremony of the Government Industrial Training Institute at Malegaon Bu. Present at the event were Tehsildar Ganesh Shinde, Group Development Officer Dr. Anil Bagal, Nagar Panchayat Chief Balaji Londhe, Principal Avadhoot Jadwar, Pune District Central Bank Director Ranjit Tavere, Dattatray Yele, Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory President Keshavrao Jagtap, and Baramati Cooperative Bank President Sachin Satav.

Mr. Pawar noted that the state government has decided to name the Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state after social reformers and prominent personalities who have contributed to the social sector. Accordingly, the Government ITI at Aundh has been named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Women’s ITI after Savitribai Phule, and the ITI at Malegaon Bu after Anantrao Pawar.

The Pawar family of Baramati has a strong tradition of social service and a rich heritage. Anantrao Pawar made significant contributions to social development, and in recognition of his work, the ITI has been named after him. Mr. Pawar assured that projects worthy of Anantrao Pawar’s name will be undertaken by this institution. A sum of Rs. 1 crore has been sanctioned for infrastructure development, including road work, and funds will be made available for the overall development of the Malegaon area, he added.

Mr. Pawar also highlighted that the Constitution Mandir initiative has been implemented in 434 ITIs under the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, as part of the Skill Development Department. Through this initiative, students are being educated about the Indian Constitution, its history, significance, and the role of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution. This is a valuable effort to pass on Ambedkar’s ideals to the younger generation.

In addition to providing skilled education to more youth, the government has launched the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center program in 1,000 colleges to create an employable workforce. Virtual classes have also been introduced in ITIs under the Skill India and Digital India initiatives, with a focus on providing skill-based education to students in remote areas. These efforts are part of the state government’s revolutionary steps towards building a skilled, employable, industrialized, and economically developed India, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mr. Pawar shared these insights with the students during the event.

Before the program, Mr. Pawar virtually unveiled the nameplates of the Anantrao Pawar Government Industrial Training Institute, Malegaon Bu; the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Government ITI, Aundh; and the Savitribai Phule Women’s Government ITI, Aundh.
