Divisional Level Sports Activities Organized for Legal Awareness Among Specially Abled Children on Legal Services Day 2024

Jaipur – The Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, in collaboration with the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (District and Sessions Judge), Jaipur Mahanagar II, organized divisional-level sports competitions at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday. The event aimed to raise legal awareness among specially abled children in celebration of Legal Services Day 2024.

The chief guest, Mr. Hariom Sharma ‘Atri’, Member Secretary of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, highlighted that the main goal of the competition was to familiarize people with disabilities with various legal services and to help integrate them into the social mainstream. Mr. Atri expressed gratitude to the parents of the participants and stressed the importance of collective encouragement, noting that with joint efforts, some of these children could go on to represent the nation at national and international levels.

Shri Neeraj K. Pawan, President of the Rajasthan State Sports Council, praised the enthusiasm of the participants, stating that their dedication to sports is commendable. He affirmed the state government’s commitment to providing enhanced sports facilities for the disabled, helping them set new records in future Paralympic games.

The event featured group competitions in Kabaddi and bocce ball, as well as individual competitions in long jump, shot put, badminton, carom, chess, table tennis, and painting. The divisional-level competitions were held in collaboration with the Rajasthan State Sports Council, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Chief District Vigilance Officer, Naya Savera, and Tabar Self Service Institute, among others. Participants who placed first, second, and third at the district level took part in the divisional competitions, with a total of 68 participants competing.

Also present were Mr. Hemant Baghela, Joint Secretary of RALSA; Mr. Purushottam Saini, Special Secretary of RALSA; Mr. Rajendra Banshiwal, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur Metropolitan I; Mrs. Pallavi Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur Metropolitan II; as well as PTI coaches, officials from the Department of Education, and school staff and parents of the participants.
