Government of India Approves Rs 892 Crore for 8 Road Sections Under CM Vishnudev Sai’s Initiative
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 892 crore 36 lakh for the development of eight road sections in Chhattisgarh. With this amount, works will be done to develop and upgrade about 324 km of roads in six districts of the state.
Today, the Government of India has sent the order for sanctioning the amount to the Secretary of the Public Works Department of the State Government. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari for giving such a huge amount for the development of roads in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for this amount sanctioned from CRIF (Central Road & Infrastructure Fund) and said that the Central Government is continuously supporting the construction of roads in the state. With this amount, eight road sections in Bemetara, Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Jashpur, Bilaspur and Khairagarh districts will be widened, strengthened and upgraded.
The Public Works Department of the state government had sent a proposal to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 9 September this year for the development of a total of 323.9 km road sections in six districts of the state. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari had given in-principle approval to this proposal in a meeting held in New Delhi with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw on 30 September. The Government of India has issued an order of sanction of Rs 892 crore 36 lakh for this today.
With the amount of Rs 892 crore 36 lakh approved by the Government of India, 39 km long Nandghat-Mungeli road section and 43 km long Bemetara-Nawagarh-Mungeli road section will be widened and strengthened in Bemetara and Mungeli districts. These also include the work of strengthening 96.2 km long Dongargaon-Chowki-Mohla Manpur road section in Rajnandgaon district, 13.5 km long Baghbahar-Kotba road section in Jashpur district, 41 km long Ludeng-Tapkara-Lavakera road section and 28 km long Jashpur-Aasta-Kusmi road section. Widening and strengthening work of 32.8 km of Sirgitti-Sarwani-Pasid-Amaldiha-Bartori-Dagori road section of Bilaspur district and 30.4 km of Rajnandgaon-Kawardha-Pondi road section of Rajnandgaon and Khairagarh district will also be done from this amount.
