National Team Reviews Progress of Livestock Schemes in Rajasthan
Members of the National Livestock Mission’s National Team Share Experiences on the Progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Rajasthan — Continuous Innovation and Necessary Reforms Will Enhance Scheme Effectiveness, Says Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department
A meeting for experience sharing was organized on Saturday at the Rajasthan Livestock Development Board’s auditorium on Tonk Road, under the chairmanship of Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department. The members of the National Team, who visited Rajasthan to evaluate various schemes operated by the Government of India’s Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, shared their field experiences.
Dr. Sharma stated that the team members visited four districts to assess the progress and implementation of various schemes, particularly the National Livestock Mission, National Gokul Mission, National Dairy Development Program, and the Livestock Health and Disease Control Program. They engaged in detailed discussions with local officials, livestock owners, and other beneficiaries. The team also inspected veterinary centers at different levels to evaluate the availability of medicines, equipment, and other facilities.
Dr. Sharma mentioned that the members expressed satisfaction with the progress of the schemes in the state and provided suggestions for smoother and better implementation. The department has noted these suggestions and will start implementing them soon.
The team praised the Mobile Veterinary Unit and Call Center 1962, recommending greater promotion to maximize public benefits and achieve the program’s objectives. Dr. Sharma assured that continuous innovation and necessary reforms would be undertaken to make the schemes more effective.
Notably, during their week-long visit, the national team toured the districts of Alwar, Sikar, Jodhpur, and Kota, appreciating the efforts made by the department in successfully implementing the centrally sponsored schemes.
The meeting was attended by national team members Dr. M. T. Manjunath, Dr. Madhavrao, Dr. Sunil Rautmore, Dr. Bhawani Singh Rathore, Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Anand Sejra, CEO of Rajasthan Livestock Development Board, along with all scheme coordinators and officials from the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation.
