Diwali Fair to be Held from October 21 to 27, Showcasing Culture and Handicrafts from Various Districts
Jaipur : The Diwali fair, organized by the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council (Rajeevika) under the Rural Development Department, was inaugurated on Monday by Additional Chief Secretary of the Rural Development Department, Mrs. Shreya Guha. The inauguration took place at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, where Mrs. Guha cut the ribbon and lit a lamp in front of the Ganpati idol. She interacted with the women members at the stalls and appreciated the handmade products on display.
The fair will run from October 21 to 27, from 11 AM to 9 PM, at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute in Jaipur. It showcases the unique culture, attire, language, and traditional products from various districts of Rajasthan. The main attractions include blue pottery, Kota Doria, iron items, rose products, lac bangles, pickles, snacks, dried lentil dumplings, terracotta, jute products, millet-based foods, Sanganeri print items, Ker Sangri, Kasuri methi, paper products, bows and arrows, soft toys, and Rajasthani footwear. Visitors can also enjoy traditional Rajasthani cuisine at the food zone.
The fair features 65 women members from self-help groups across the state, displaying and selling their products. This initiative aims to empower rural women, enhance their income, and improve their financial stability and quality of life.
The event was attended by Department Secretary Mr. Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar, Project Director Mr. Ajay Kumar Arya, and COM Mr. Sunil Dattatreya.
