153 Candidates File 164 Nomination Papers for 288 Constituencies in the State So Far

Mumbai : Today marks the second day for filing nomination papers for the elections in the 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. As of today, October 23, 2024, a total of 153 candidates have submitted 164 nomination papers, according to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office.
The Model Code of Conduct for the Maharashtra Assembly General Election came into effect on October 15, 2024, and the election notification was published on October 22, 2024. The filing of nomination papers is currently underway, with the last date to submit nominations set for October 29. The scrutiny of these papers will take place on October 30, and candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations by November 4, 2024. Voting is scheduled for November 20, with the counting of votes set for November 23, 2024.
