1.25 lakh cow dung diyas to illuminate Ayodhya

Lucknow : Preparations for the grandest Deepotsav in Ayodhya are underway, with all departments working enthusiastically on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s instructions to elevate the festival’s magnificence.

As part of the celebrations, the Animal Husbandry Department has pledged to light 1.5 lakh cow dung diyas during Deepotsav. On Monday, Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh met the Chief Minister and symbolically presented cow dung diyas and other cow products, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts toward cow conservation and promotion.

The Yogi government aims to light over 35 lakh diyas in Ayodhya, with 28 lakh diyas illuminating 55 ghats along the Saryu River, setting a new world record. The Chief Minister lauded the Animal Husbandry Department’s commitment to lighting 1.5 lakh cow dung diyas as part of this grand display.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his dedication to cow protection, directing officials to organize cow worship programs at cow shelters across the state on the occasion of Govardhan Puja. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, public representatives, social workers, and cow enthusiasts will participate in these events to promote awareness and care for cows.

He also instructed that proper maintenance, sufficient green fodder, and regular health check-ups be ensured at all cow shelters in the state, emphasizing that cow protection and promotion remain top priorities for the government.
