Rs 40 lakh crore investment proposals showcase Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory: CM Yogi
Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday, said that the investment proposals totaling Rs 40 lakh crore received during last year’s Global Investors Summit, bear testimony to the growing interest of investors from across the globe in Uttar Pradesh. These proposals not only signify the state’s progress but also narrate its transformative development journey. These proposals reflect the state’s progress and tell the story of its development journey, he stated.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the ABP News summit held at Hotel Taj in Gomtinagar on Tuesday. He said, “Over the past seven and a half years, Uttar Pradesh has seen major changes that have improved its reputation both in India and around the world. As a result, investors from across the globe are now drawn to invest in the state.”
CM Yogi shared that seven and a half years ago, Uttar Pradesh was struggling with a damaged reputation. The state was known for riots, criminal gangs, political corruption, and governance issues. This led to a crisis for young people who faced a lack of jobs, respect, and security. Festivals and celebrations were marked by fear, with residents worried about outbreaks of violence.
“Today, however, the state is free from riots and lawlessness. Previously, investors hesitated to invest in Uttar Pradesh, and those who did often sought ways to leave. Now, the state has created a safe and stable environment that attracts businesses and provides new opportunities for its youth,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Uttar Pradesh’s recent Global Investor Summit showcased the state’s economic potential to the nation. He noted that groundbreaking for projects worth Rs 12 lakh crore has already taken place from the summit’s proposals. At present, investment proposals of Rs 10 lakh crore are ready, while work is going on continuously.
CM Yogi emphasized that these investments are not only about economic growth but also represent vast job opportunities for the state’s youth. Uttar Pradesh, now one of India’s leading state economies, aims to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2029, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. This goal, he said, has the united commitment of the people of Uttar Pradesh, who are ready to drive the state’s economic future forward.
He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has created a strong, welcoming environment for investment and tourism. He explained that this success is not only due to favorable policies and the Ease of Doing Business, but also due to the government’s step-by-step efforts, backed by a strict zero-tolerance approach to crime. “Today, no criminal or mafia can evade the law; the state is committed to swift action against any threats to law and order”, he asserted.
“This secure environment has made Uttar Pradesh an attractive destination for investors and tourists alike. Once a state facing an identity crisis, it is now catching the attention of people across India and the world who are eager to be part of its growth. This transformation required significant policy changes by the state government to bring in new opportunities and foster a climate of safety and development,” Yogi added.
The Chief Minister shared that extensive reforms and policies have been implemented to transform Uttar Pradesh into a model state for investors and job seekers alike. With sector-specific policies in place, Uttar Pradesh now has 28 separate investment policies, each tailored to welcome investors in various sectors. For the first time, the state has streamlined the process by issuing 450 NOCs through a single-window system, while the Sarathi portal provides online support and incentives to investors.
The results of these changes, CM Yogi stated, are evident. Where young people once had to search far and wide for employment, they now find job opportunities within their own districts. Over the past seven and a half years, the state has provided seven lakh government jobs, while the private sector has offered employment to millions, enabling youth to build careers locally.
“Today, Uttar Pradesh’s youth, entrepreneurs, and citizens no longer face an identity crisis; they are recognized and respected across India and beyond. The transformation over recent years has sparked curiosity, with people eager to learn about the state’s development and success,” he said.
The CM praised the glorious history of Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the significance of its festivals, particularly Dhanteras and Deepotsav. He noted that Lord Dhanvantari, a deity associated with health and wellness, was born in Varanasi, the state’s oldest city, and that this heritage is celebrated across the nation.
He also mentioned that a grand Deepotsav would be held in Ayodhya on Wednesday. This event marks a significant occasion, as it is the first major celebration since Ramlala took his place in his sacred abode after 500 years.
CM Yogi extended his warm wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh, congratulating them on the auspicious occasions of Dhanteras and Deepotsav.
